Diabetic, High BP, Having Few Palpitations, Cannot Get It Low. Should I Worry ?

Hi 46 yr old male 17st 10 (was 19 st 13) Diabetic, high BP. Recently been having a few palpitations, went to doctors and checked bp - no point as suffer from white coat syndrome, so been recording bp at home , however cannot gt it below 160/90 and heart rate is only 60bpm - which i thought would be good and a sign i am getting fitter. must add i have started jogging in last three months and now try to do 3 x 3km runs a week - no problems with heart when jogging. think i may be giving myself panic attacks worrying about BP. off camping with just my 9 yr old son for weekend so anxious nothing happens while away.

Hello,
It is very important for a diabetic to keep his blood sugar levels, blood pressure levels and blood cholesterol levels so as you can avoid all future micro as well as macro vascular complications.Uncontrolled diabetes results in damage to all important organs of body including heart, kidney, eyes, nerves, blood vessels etc.
Your goal for blood pressure should be below 120/80 mm of Hg.
Goal for total cholesterol should be below 180 and LDL cholesterol below 80 and triglycerides below 150.
Consult your doctor and get the prescription revised for addition or change of your anti hypertensive medicines so that your BP can be brought below 120/80.
Carry on with your exercises and jogging and eat healthy by avoiding junk foods and taking more of fresh fruits and green vegetables.
Thanks
