Diabetic, Leg Blisters. How Can This Be Treated By Exercise And Low Glycemic Diet?
Hi, Dr. I have just discovered that I am in that one-half of one percent of diabetics who develop leg blisters. I have also learned that it has something to do with diabetic neuropathy in my feet. Can I overcome this, not just with medication and insulin but by exercise and a low glycemic diet? And does a pH balance have anything to do with it? Thank you. April Jones
Hello, These blisters seem to be diabetic foot ulcers which are complications of uncontrolled diabetes. These ulcers result from diabetic neuropathy and / or peripheral artery disease.Untreated ulcers result in infection, gangrene and even amputation also. You must consult a diabetologist as early as possible and treatment required is.. Proper control of blood sugar levels, blood pressure and blood cholesterol. Proper wound care which involves debridement, use of antibiotics and dressings Management of peripheral artery disease with possible by pass surgery. Don't waste time and go to hospital urgently. Thanks
