Diabetics With Poison Ivy Hands And Arms. Used Steroids, Prednisone. Itchy Rashes All Over The Body. Suggestions?

I had poison ivy on my hands and arms. Got a steroid shot a week and a half ago and also a round of oral prednisone. Now I am getting a fine red rash all over my body even where I didnt have poison ivy. And on my hands I am getting tiny blisters. It will go away but at any given time without doing anything my whole body starts to itch and the rash reappears. I am diabetic but haven't changed my medicine. This rash has been coming and going daily for about 4 days now

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
You seem to have developed contact allergic dermatitis to poison ivy. In CAD, a person gets rash at site of contact with allergen initially but later on rash appears at other body sites too.
If it is mild, intake of oral antihistamine like cetirizine and stron topical steroid like clobetasol or halobetasole should help. If its severe then a course of oral steroids will be required.
Hope that helped
