1. Kikuchi disease, KD [histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis] typically affects the cervical lymph nodes and is a nonspecific hyperimmune reaction to a variety of infectious agents [according to recent studies]
2. some autoimmune conditions which have been linked to KD are systemic lupus erythematous, antiphospholipid syndrome, polymyositis, systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, bilateral uveitis, arthritis and cutaneous necrotizing vasculitis so make sure these possibilities are excluded [since you are DIAGNOSED with KD]
3. treatment is largely supportive and symptomatic.[Analgesics, antipyretics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs) and corticosteroids are used] else you can ask for option of IVIG [intravenous immunoglobulins]

PS
Recent studies have suggested EBV [epstein barr virus] as the causative/ offending agent in such autoimmune cases and miscarriages and birth defects in females [loss of baby]. Consult with Gynecologist or with your family doctor for laboratory investigations of the same.
