Diagnosed With Bipolar And Eating Disorder And Social Anxiety. Epitec And Tegretol Prescribed. Weight Gain And Aggression. Side Effects?

Hi Docter,
I'm a 19 year old femald and I've recently been diagnosed with bipolar2 disorder, social axiety disorder aswell as an eating disorder.

My Psyciatrist has perscribed me with epitec(100mg), tegretol(400mg) and toplep(25mg), included a anti-anxiety medication that's recently been switched from Urbanol(50mg) so I'm not sure what I'm using right now.

Is there anyway that my medication can make me 'crazy'?? Honestly, I have never been so agressive, depressed with such terrible outbursts as I've been having while on this medication for the last 6weeks.

I am like a little child, my OCD has worsend dramatically. Icannot control my language, nor my behavior for that matter.

And on top of it all my, with my binge-eating disorder, wich I've got under control now, my weight has dramatically escalated. Is this the medication? I'm incapable of anything throughout the day, and at night I cry and cry and cry.

PLEASE IM DESPERATE. HELP ME

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there ~

I understand your desperation, however it is vital information to know what drug you were switched to from urbanol. I hope you are taking the epitec, tegretol and toplep for a seizure disorder diagnosed recently or in the past. They could also act as mood stabilizers. I am sure that these medications are not making you crazy, however there are medication interactions that you might have to be concerned about and bring it up with your psychiatrist doctor. It might be a good idea to consult another psychiatrist for a second opinion.

I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
