Diagnosed With Clogged Tear Duct, Stuffy Nose And Sleep Apnea At Night. Could These Three Things Possibly Be Connected ?
Hi, my 16 month old daughter has recently been diagnosed with a clogged tear duct and has been scheduled for a surgical proceedure next month to correct the problem. However, I am wondering if this is the diagnosis. My daughter has always had a troublesome stuffy nose causing some slight sleep apnea at night and also on occasion has had excessive discharge from her ear on the same side as her watery eye/stuffy nostril . Could these three things possibly be connected?
Yes, the clogged tear duct can be due to the sinus problem. Please consult an ENT surgeon before getting operated. The nasal pathology has to be addressed before proceeding to surgery. You can try with steam inhalation 2-3 times/day, saline nasal drops and drinking plenty of warm water. Any more doubts you are welcome.
