Diagnosed With Ear Infection

Hi, My son is 3 years old. For the past month or a little over a month, he has been complaining of sudden pain the back of the head when he jumps vigorously. He even cries. He is usually very active and has high tolerance levels to pain. A week ago he had fever and cold. When I took him to doctor, he was diagnosed with ear infection. He is on antibiotics right now for the past 5 days[Amoxycillin]. I am worried if that head ache is somehting serious or it is just related to ear infection. Please help!

Hi.
Thanks for your query about your son.
He is just 3years old. And headches are extremely rare in this age group.
Ear infections can cause extended infections in the brain .
Hence I would advise you to get neurological evaluation and MRI of the nrain and ears.
To put on higher antibiotics and proper caee.
