have been diagnosed with high blood pressure since late 90's. its been under controlled for some time now. take lotrel for pressure and allopurinal for gout which is also under control. 04-12-13 to the 17th had chest stinging pains which seemed to move around on the left side of chest. followed by a severe burning sensation from my face, arm, and chest. also had a mild asthma flare up at the same time. went to emergency room where they did a series of test. Ekg was normal. x-ray normal. blood work fine. no sugar ,kidney, or clolestarol problem. pressure is usually 130 over 82 for me. er told my primary to put me on a aspirin regimen. and primary scheduled me to see a cardioligist. a.lso problem seems to happen when i sit down. i am a bus driver for 18 years. i am 46 years old.
Dear Sir
Thanks for your query to us.
Going by your description, the chances of your complaints having relation to heart is low because a cardiac pain does is not known to move on chest from one place to other in small areas, it is not a stinging sensation but a sensation of heaviness is more common and it does not involve whole face (it is always below or at level of lower jaw). Moreover, the symptoms which comes at rest but does not come on walking, exercise, running, using stairs and on exertion are unlikely to be related to anginal heart disease. Your blood pressure is good. You may seek an opinion of a pulmonologist too for your asthma problem and would also like your cardiologist to see , if there is a drug responsible for these symptoms.
Hope this helps.
sincerely
