Diagnosed With Hypertension. Is Medicine Necessary To Take?
I am a 28 year male, I have been diagnosed with hypertension , 140/104, I have a cholesterol ratio of 4.4, I have carried out ECG and ECHO tests and all the results are normal, I am on low salt diet and am involved with jogging for 1 hour every day, now the BP is 130/98 still my diastolic is not going down, would you suggest me to take medications
Hi thanks for your question
Though excercise and low salt have controlled your blood pressure but still your diastolic blood pressure is too much high and you need medicine to control your diastolic blood pressure. It is good that your ECG and echo are normal but your young and has to live a long life.so you have to take care of your kidneys and heart from the ill effects of high blood pressure
Hope this answers your question.
thank you. are you obese, smoker, alcoholic or have family history of hypertension? if you have any modifiable factor mentioned then modify it. you have to check your cholesterol level. if all non pharmalogical measures fail then you have to take antihypertensive drug.
