Diagnosed With Large Ovarian Cyst. History Of Sub Total Hysterectomy. Prescribed Duolution L In Regular Intervals. Right Treatment?
Had sub-total hysterectomy in 2005 May due to excessive bleeding during delivery of second child. Recently, I was diagnosed with simple but large ovarian cyst. Had the CA-126 test and the reports were normal. Doctor has prescribed Duoluton L in the following manner: 11 tabs then give a gap of one week, then take another 11 tabs and again give a gap of one week, then take another 11 tabs. After this medicine is to be stopped and the doctor to be consulted after three months. I wanted to know if this line of treatment is ok.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. The ingredients of Duoluton L are levonorgestrel+Ethinylestradiol and the is one tablet once a day as a contraceptive. As you stated in your query that there is a large size ovarian cyst and the treating doctor has prescribed the doses accordingly according to his personal experience and he is right . He may have treated cases , so take tablets according to your doctor. Good luck. Dr. HET
