Diagnosed With Ovarian Cancer After A Total Hysterectomy. Taking Avastin Now. Is It Right Treatment ?

Hi I have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer but I already have total hysterectomy, it has metastasized at the peritoneum, I had surgey, n chemo with taxol n carboplatin, remission for one year n cameback after a year since then I have been with carboplatintogether with gemzar n repition of taxol n ncarboplatin, n nthen 16 rounds of taxol alone which gave me severe neuropathy my tumor marker was up n down but never on normal one time high normal at 35 because of my severe neuropathy my oncologist put me on femara pills for 2 months n then catscan ntoo bad my tumor marker went up double n most of my cancer is at the rectume , so decided to do carbo n avastin for treatment but had difficulty with insurance, i had avastin last year like 3 treatment but didnot continue cause insurance wont approved that it is not for my kind of cancer, so genentech had carried the three medication, but now I have read that avastin is for rectum treatment so insurance shd approve what can u say about this ..i thank u for your opinion pls respond

Dear,
it seems that you have become resistant to conventional chemotherapy approved for Ovarian carcinoma. Bevacizumzb is targetted drug used for verious malignancies in terminal stages but its effect also is not long lasting.
Liposomal Doxorubicin, Topotecan, cyclophosphamide are other agents active in restant Ovarian Cancers which can be used in different combinations. Your Doctor must have already these in mind and might consider them as per necessity.
