Diagnosed With Pleural Effusion, Experiencing Pain. Is That Normal?

Hello, I had been diagnosed with pleural effusion 4 months back and had been started on anti tubercular drugs since my Ada levels were high. Recently I have experiencing the same kind of pain I had prior to the treatment. Is that normal or is it something I should worry about?

hi welcome to HCM
pleural effusion with rise in ada with increase in proteins and more lymphocytic predominance can be treated as pleural effusion secondary to TB
as you are on treatment there might be 2 possibilities
1.your effusion might have been subsided with forming a pleural thickening which might cause occasional pleuritic pain
2.effusion persisted which might ahve caused pleuritic pain
so torule out the cause better take a chest xray
ihope you got you answer
