Difficulty Breathing Using Cpap Due To Back Pressure, Sleepiness During Day, Headache On Waking Up. Help
Dear Doc, is tarted using the Cpap unit about a month ago. I find that breathing with itis a little difficult because there seems to be a. Back pressure even though its supposed to be auto. I also feel that I am not getting best sleep as I still feels sleepy in the day. I sometimes wae up with a head ache please help me with your views.
Hi, It does take time to become accustomed to breathing and sleeping using a CPAP machine. You will experience continuous pressure whilst breathing as this is how it provides benefit. Perhaps the mask needs adjusting to provide a better fit to your face. If you are still sleepy during the day then you are not gaining maximum benefit from it. The headache you sometimes have when you wake up is probably due to retained carbon dioxide. This is another sign that it is not working fully. There are many different machines available so further advice would need to come from your therapist who supplied it. I suggest you see them again with your concerns. Hope this helps.
