Difficulty Swallowing With Constant Need To Clear The Throat With No Help From Esophagus Stretch And Botox. Any Ideas?
Hi, my mother is having trouble swallowing and is constantly trying to clear her throat. She had her esophagus stretched and that did not work. They then put botox injection in her esophagus it lasted about 2 months and now we are back to square one. She is 93 years old and not able to eat I am afraid that she will lose a lot of weight and really get sick. Her GP Dr. said not to have anyone put a tube in her stomach to feed her. I am at my wits end. Please make some suggestions. Thank you in advance. YYYY@YYYY
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. It appears the she has some growth in the throat, and obstrcting the food to pass. I advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have M.R.I for confirmation. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms omeprazole, domperidone, and anaesthetic antacid gel. Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods for maintenance of good health. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
