Do Depo-Provera Injections Cause Heavy Bleeding And Cramping?
Hi, I ve been on the Depo shot for about 2 years now. In the beginning I had irregular spotting for about 4 months, which I understand is normal. Also, about a week or two before I m due to get my next shot I will start spotting again. I don t usually worry very much about that either. However, I just got my last shot on June 9th and this week I ve started bleeding extremely heavily and cramping as well. The blood is sometimes really dark and sometimes bright red. My cramps are terrible. Is this normal? What should I do?

Hello,
As of now, you can take drugs like tranexamic acid to control bleeding. If bleeding persists better to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.
