I am 25 years old and on Friday I found out that I have high blood pressure diabetes. Well I got a blood pressure machine and just used it 30 minutes ago. My readings was 142/96 with a pulse of 91. is that high ?
You have got Stage 1 Hypertension. Optimal BP is less than 120/80 mmHg. Normal BP is less than 130/85 mmHg.High normal BP is 130-139/85-89 mmHg.
Follow-up recommended: Confirm in two months; one BP medication; Change lifestyle.(Since you have diabetes, BP medication is compulsory)
Normal pulse rate of a resting person is 60-100 beats per minute.
Check the function of the kidney (for microalbuminuria, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen), heart (for hypertrophy) and retina ( for hypertensive retinopathy) once in a year.
Control your blood sugar and bad cholesterol.
