Do I Need To See A Specialist About My Obesity, Lightheadedness And Metallic Taste In The Mouth?

I have had my A1c tested twice and each test year apart results were 4.1 and 4.0, the doctor says I have insulin resistance but does not say anything else. I am 100 pounds over weight and has a hard time losing weight and if I go for more than 5 hours of not eating I start to have a metal taste in my mouth, start becoming shaky and light headed. Do I need to see a specialist.
