Do I Need To Visit A Doctor For My Bad Headache After Hitting With An Extension Cord?

hello. I hit my head with an extension cord outlet end today just below the hairline and smack in he middle of my upper head area and I have a very bad headache now that will not go away. I also have a pain from the area that got hit extending to the right side of my face through my jaw just below the right ear area. Light hurts my eyes and I feel sleepy. do I have a concussion?

Hello,

Your symptoms as described do not seem to imply that you suffered a concussion which is really defined as a BRIEF AND TRANSIENT LAPSE in neurological functioning such that either a short period of confusion or unconsciousness occurs in the setting of blunt trauma to the head.

Just the presence of a headache does not allow the diagnosis to be made but you are feeling all the symptoms you describe then, perhaps going to an Urgent Care Center would be a wise move.

If nothing else they can get a better sense of whether or not you need an imaging study of the head as well as prescribe appropriate medication to take care of the headache which sounds to have migrainous features.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
