Do I Require Another Surgery After Having A Partial Hysterectomy To Remove Endo Lesions?
I recently had a partial hysterectomy and was also due to have removal of endo lesions. My doctor informed me after my surgery that he could not remove endo because it was one solid mass which would involve removing cervix, part of my vagina and colon. Is there any other was to shrink this mass without surgery
Hello and welcome to HCM, I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
I understand the query and also your concern.
It is very common with endometriosis to have masses that are stuck up and not removable. If the ovaries were removed then we can say the mass will not grow. But if it regresses or not is difficult to say.
Certain drugs like danazole, Gn Rh analogues and progesterones are used to help decrease the size of implants. So discuss these with your doctor and begin treatment.
I do share your concern and wish you a healthy recovery.
Hope this was helpful. Feel free to ask any further queries and I will be happy to help. Thanks for using HCM. Have a good day. Dr Nilajkumar Bagde Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology
