Do Phentermine And Topiramate Cause Itchy Rashes All Over The Body?
i was prescribed phentermine/topiramate as a dietary supplement i have broken out in a rash it itches but not to much the redness is all over my body i took the medication together this morning at 8 and started the redness at 1130 I took both at the same time. I took benadryl around 930 and has helped is this normal should i take one pill tomorrow only to see which pill is causing this or should i go see my doctor
Phentermine sometimes causes hives, they can appear anywhere in the body causing itchy rashes. Side effects of Topiramate, are itchy rash or swelling in the face, tongue or throat. Inform about the itchy rashes to the treating PCP & get physically examined, get evaluated so that the medications or doses can be altered.
Apply calamine lotion in the area affected, you can also apply hydrocortisone cream. You can stop all the other medications and take antihistamines to get rid of your allergic reactions after consultation with a physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
