Do Probiotics Along With Calcium And Vitamin Supplements Elevate The Liver Enzymes?

Hi. I found out from a recent blood test that I have elevated liver enzymes and I do not drink alcohol but I do take multi vitamins and supplements like probiotics, calcium with vitamin d3, msm with condroitn and glacusime, echenasia, lutien. Would any or all of them cause the liver enzymes to elevate? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, all above medicines mentioned by you do have effect on liver enzymes. Msm with condroitn and glacusime, echenasia, lutein elevates liver enzymes if taken for long time. Do not take more of the supplements than is recommended.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pramod Kokare, General & Family Physician
