Do Allergic Reactions Ever Cause Hair Loss?

I am 50 years, old menopausal, and I have noticed symptoms of alopecia and thinning of hair.....? I heard that allergies can attribute to it, I have ruled out thyroid, and I have no other ailments...rather healthy and exercise regularly... is it a possibly ? allergic to cat, that lives in house

Hi.

Yes allergies can contribute, but it is only a mild contribution. But what is more likely to contribute is a hormonal imbalance that can result from the menopause or pre-menopause you are experiencing. I would recommend a check on your hormone levels and a correction if there seems to be an imbalance which is most likely.
