Do Artificial Hormone Pills Function As Contraceptive?

i am 20 years old...n i had sex on 3rd june.the last time my period started was on 23rd.. i have been taking artificial hormones..in d 21 day cycle scheme...which as far as i know are contraceptives only...because i had the problem of irregular periods.. so does this medicine act as a contraceptive as well for me?? and i took an emergency contraceptive as well...so will that be effective??

Hi,

Most of the times hormonal contraceptives are prescribed for correcting irregular periods and such pills also act as contraceptives. When you add emergency contraceptive to this (which are not really needed) the hormone levels increase and this may cause delay in your periods.
