Do Black Spots Shown In Pelvic X Ray With Severe Pain In Hip And Leg Suggest Cancer?

My mother is 83 has had a lot of pain in hip going down leg. they treated her for syatic nerve with shots that did not help she had x-rays of hip, back and pelvis which showed 3 black spots and now going for full body scan. Is this cancer? She had lung cancer 7 years ago and beat it!

Hi. It shows osteopenic bone meaning those areas are heavily demineralized. However with a.history of lung cancer and a history of chronic pain refractory to RX she needs to be evaluated for metastatic bone disease and that's why the bone scan is planned. Hope it turns out to be negative. Take care. Wishing her good health.
