Do Blood Thinners Increase The Chances Of Heart Stroke?

I have been prescribed two tablets apixaban, Eliquis 5 mg twice a day for my high blood presure, but I am using one pice or fresh turmeric boiled in milk every evening, but today my dardiologist told me anything which is blood thiner if I use I might have stroke? is this true?

No blood thinners does not increase the chances of heart stroke. They however prevent platelet aggregation & reduce the risk of heart problems including stroke. Apixaban you are taking is a anticoagulant for the treatment of venous thromboembolic diseases. It considerably lower the risk of stroke and embolism in patients with venous thromboembolic diseases such as deep vein thrombosis & thereby is preventing heart stroke or attack. You might have got a mistake in understanding your doctors words.
The main risk of this drug is risk of bleeding both external by slight injury as well as internal bleeding. This is however same to all anticoagulant or blood thinner drugs.
