Do Brown Discharge, Hunger Pangs After Having Unprotected Sex Followed By Periods Suggest Pregnancy?

I had sex about three months ago. Sometime at the end of October or in the beginning of November. It was unprotected sex and I had my period later that week. I haven't had my period since. The thing is, is that I've always been irregular. I only get it about 3-5 times a year and have a 3-5 month gap. I noticed a couple days ago that I had brown discharge when I wiped, but nothing in the toilet or in my undergarment. I've had a bit of the brown discharge since. I don't know if it is old blood from my last period 3 months ago, or maybe I'm pregnant. I've also had some discomfort in my stomach. Although, it could be due to not eating 3 meals a day like I usually do. (Not much food in the fridge). Maybe I'm hungry. It's hard to tell if it's from hunger or just cramps. I've also been thirsty. Could I be pregnant? What do my symptoms suggest?

Hi,

Thanks for the query.

You must not worry as you had a single act of unprotected sex and had a period after that so the chances of pregnancy are very low. The brown discharge cannot come from the last period. It may either be the bleeding coming just before your period or due to any lesion of the cervix like a polyp or an erosion. Hunger and thirst do not suggest pregnancy.

The best way to know if you are pregnant is by doing a urine test at home. Since the sexual episode was more than 2 months ago, if there is pregnancy the test will come positive.

If you are sure that the bleeding you experienced after the sexual episode was your routine period, there is no need to worry as pregnancy is almost unlikely.

Hope I was able to help you. Thanks for using Health Care Magic.
I would be happy to answer any further queries.
Have a nice day.
