Do Chia Seeds Cause High Blood Work Results?

I am a 43 year old woman who recently had blood work done. My doctor informed me that my amylase level wer high (156). He asked if I had been drinking excessive alcohol. I informed him that I have been drinking 1 -2 glasses of red wine every evening over the past few months. However, I hadn't had any alcohol two weeks prior to the doctor's visit. I also, have added Chia seeds to my diet. Could this have caused my the high amylase levels. All of my other lab work was fine.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. No chia seeds do not cause high amylase levels
2. Alcohol induced damage will be present for more than a month.
3. Stopping prior or 2 weeks prior, wont help. High amylase levels is due to liver damage.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
