Do Cramps And Discharge Of Brown Blood Indicate Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 18 years old. I have been on Depo Shot since I was 15. My last shot was in January and I didn t take my next one in April. In May and early June of this year I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I ve been having some cramps and I have brown blood coming out of my vagina that looks like mucus. Could I be pregnant? Or what?

Hello,

The brown blood coming out of your vagina could be due to any infection or injury if had hard or dry sex. For the pregnancy part, I think should wait for your due date, If not, should run pregnancy test. Plus, I think you need to run vaginal swab testing to determine the vaginal infection and treat it adequately.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
