Do Delayed Periods Indicate Pregnancy?

Me and my girlfriend had sex many time and after that she had her periods normally but last Tuesday we had sex I m sure I din t put into her but there is a delay in her periods of 3 days is she pregnent plz help us as we r worried a lot there is no other sign only missing of periods thankyou

Hello,

Missed periods can be of many reasons like,low hemoglobin levels,hormonal imbalance,hypothyroidism.

If such patient comes to my clinic,i would perform certain tests like complete blood picture,thyroid profile,ultrasound abdomen to rule out the cause.

In her case,as its only 3 days past her normal cycle,she can wait for one more week.However, urine pregnancy test can be done for confirmation of pregnancy.

Unprotected sex is not safe and its advisable to use barrier methods for prevention pregnancy and as well as sexually transmitted infections.
