Do Fever, Sore Throat And Stuffy Nose Indicate Strep Throat?
Hi, For the past 4 months it has been hurting a lot when i sing or talk. I have went to an ENT 3 times already and i have been given a nasal spray. That didn't work. I don't have any allergies. Recently i got really sick (fever, headache, sore throat, stuffy nose) , and i noticed there is a red dot on one of my tonsils, its a little white, and so is the back of my tongue. Do i possibly have strep throat or tonsillitis?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of fever, sore throat and stuffy nose which is due to bacterial infection of upper respiratory tract leading to tonsillitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with warm saline gargles and maintain hygiene of oral cavity. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances and carbonated beverages. You should do gargles with antiseptic mouthwash such as Listerine. You should consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestants and anti inflammatory medications. You should take multivitamin tablets rich in vitamin B12.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
