Do Headaches Caused After Injury To Eyebrows Area Need Medical Attention?

Hi I got elbowed in the left eyebrow Really hard two days ago and had a bump the night of with a really bad headache. Now, two days later, still have a really bad headache with slight bruising and unable to touch the area I got hit because it's so sensitive. Should I get it checked out?

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I would like to explain that your symptoms seem to be related to inflammation or irritation of the soft tissue under the skin of this region.

I recommend avoiding possible second trauma in this region, as it may exacerbate the situation.

For the moment, I recommend taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen for the pain. Everything will be OK in the next days. You should just try to be patient.

If your situation does not improve or even worsens in the next days (headache, nausea, gait imbalance, etc.), I would recommend going to the ER for a CT scan of the head to exclude possible delayed intracranial bleeding.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Aida
