Do Hemorrhoids Cause Extreme Bleeding?

this sounds cliche but its true, my girlfriends husband has been complaining of pain in what he thinks is hemroids - they started bleeding (or there is blood from somewhere rectally) so much so that he bled through boxers and pants several times in a day (he borrowed a pad from his wife to make it through his evening appointments) - this has been going on for almost a week. I know he claims he doesn't feel "well" but don't know exactly what that entails ... just wondered if hemroids bleed that much and if it seems that he should see a doctor - he's very doctor resistant...

Yes its quite possibly due to hemorrhoidal bleed. He should see a surgeon as soon as possible.

Bleeding depends on the degree of hemorrhoids. He must have an advanced degree hemorrhoids. And sometimes associated with hemorrhoids, patient gets constipated and on defecation anal tear causes fresh and profuse bleeding.
