Do Hormonal Imbalance Cause Delay In Periods?

i got married in june 2010 and still am not pregnant before and after wedding my periods are iiregular but never delayed my periods more than 1 month.my last period was in december and still i didnt get my periods.so i went and scanned they said there is no problem in my uterus and my ovaries are fine but the egg cells are small.will there be any problem with my hormones???is there any problem in the health or any danger due to delay of my periods???????please answer doctor.....
