Do I Need A Nuclear Stress Test After Undergoing A By-pass?

I had a heart attack at 59 yrs. Had a stent put in which failed after 4 mos. Another stent, which lasted 'til I was 61. I then had bypass using a vein from my left leg. I'm 68 and feel great, and active. Today my cardiologist checked me as OK, and scheduled a nuclear stress test because he said that the by-pass usually fails between 7-10 years. I am overweight, but it doesn't seem to restrict me, I walk a couple miles a day, haven't smoked in 35 years. What can I look forward too?

hello,
I have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM.
Actually you have tendency for rapid progression of blocks in arteries as evident by short lasting stent life. Moreover as you mentioned that you had bypass with venous graft which has shorter span as compared to arterial grafts. You may get regular exercise treadmill test done which will give information on possible blocks.
However Nuclear stress test is more specific that TMT,so you have been rightly advised for the same,
i would be interested to know your result
My best wishes
