Do I Need A Surgery To Treat A Perforated Ear Drum?

I have a purferated ear drum with one big hole no more infection and hearing is fine is it essential to have an operation or can I leave it I've had it for over a year now used to have bad infection but that has gone now. But the hole is bigger. Thanks

I have gone through your query; it suggests that you may be suffering from the chronic suppurative otitis media and in this disease if you want to prevent the progression of the disease better to go for the surgery.

Before surgery you may go for the some tests
1. Pure tone audiometry.
2. X ray mastoid.
