Do I Need To Be On BP Medication For This BP Value Of 136/85?

My BP is 136/85 off of meds for around 2 weeks. I was diagnosed with hypertension 2 years or so ago and would like to NOT continue to take it. My BP was 185/125 when I was first diagnose. So my question is is my BP to high now to stay off my perscription? Which is 25mg of cozaar.

Hi,

You should monitor your blood pressure daily for a week without medication, and if it stays below 140\90, then you can complete stopping your drug.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
