Usually the pathologies that cause hypothyroidism are chronic, it means that the treatment is life long.
It does not have any side effect if you take the correct dose. To be sure for that, you need to check TSH level once in 6 months.
There is no need to restrict any type of food. You just need to take levothyroxine correctly.
