Do Nausea And Diarrhea Post An Ovarian Cyst Removal Require Medical Attention?

I am a 24 year old who had an ovarian cyst removed with robot assist laparoscopy 7 days ago. Day 5 post op started having nausea and diarrhea when I eat. I can drink fluids but solids make me sick. I take probiotics and did not have any antibiotics with the surgery. Any suggestions?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the nausea and diarrhea is not related to the surgery but due to a new infection of the stomach/intestines.

This can be a viral or bacterial infection.

You would need to consider holding off solid food till there is a 4 hour window with no symptoms.
Till that time you should focus on using fluids to replace any fluids that you are losing.
When you re start eating use small amounts of dry foods first.

The probiotics can be continued, they would be helpful.

I hope this helps
