Do Open Sores On The Legs Post Eliquis 2 Intake Indicate Allergy?

I had an ablation on April 20 TH. I started Eloquis 2 days prior to surgery and have developed huge open sores especially on left leg. They are scabs that are purple and they are spreading to my other leg, arms and behind my neck. They itch very much. Could I be allergic to the medication?

Hi

Yes, it is possible that peripheral edema with Apixaban. Also possible to develop rashes around the body I you're allergic to the drug. It may skin lesions due to scabies or eczema or varicose veins etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Atarax twice a day for five days. Use Derma dew locally. If symptoms not improved please consult your treating doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
