General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the anterior cervical discectomy procedure is associated with number of surgical side effects in post operative period even in highest skilled centers.

* The current problem with difficulty in swallowing indicates possible side effect through inadverent injury to superior laryngeal nerve during the surgical procedure of anterior cervical discectomy and fusion.

* However it is best recommended to consult your doc for detailed evaluation and discussion of possible reasons for the case management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
