Do Pins Placed In Joints Of Toes Get Affected While Bending?

My husband had hammer toes, Thus he had pins in second, third, fourth toes.. He is a stroke survivor of four years, he doesn t really feel if anything is wrong until it s noticeable to Thee eye. So he is concerned about a question that the pins that stay in the middle joint of his toes, can he bend his toes? If he bends them, will they stay bent, or straighten back? He is fifty years old had a eschemic stroke four years ago and hammer toe is results of...Specialist said.

The pins introduced in second, third and fourth toes are preemptively straight pins.
The degree of mobility in the toes depends on the length and location of the pins.
If the pins are located across the joint, bending may be difficult.
However, you may discuss about the mobility of the joints with your orthopedician.
This exact range of mobility can be determined by clinical assessment and it depends on above mentioned factors.
