Do "double" Blood Donations Cause Dizziness And Feelings Of Illness?

Hi. Just donated 'double donation' of red blood cells--actually about 4 hours ago.
Am feeling slightly winded (lightheaded?) walking upstairs, raising arms above head--
as if my body were recovering from an illness and still ill. Feel fine otherwise...
Is this common for double red blood cell donation? This is my first experience.

hi,
Yes it is common to experience symptoms of dizziness and light headedness after blood donation..especially for the first time. This results due to fluctuating blood pressure caused by volume depletion of blood. You need to consume fluids all the day of donation to keep fluid balance and avoid dehydration. you will be fine soon.
All the best.
