Do Shingles Spread Across The Body, If Affected During A Sexual Intercourse?

My wife has had an outbreak of shingles. It was diagnosed by our doctor in Dec 2016. The outbreak has healed a lot but she still has one or two small spots that keep erupting. The outbreak sight is high up on the inner thigh of her left leg. How safe is sex? We have refrained from intercourse because the outbreak sight is so close to her vagina and would be impossible to avoid during sex. Could sex lead to the spread of her outbreak on her body and to me?
