Do Side Effects Of Fluocinolone Acetonide Persist For A Long Period?

Hello, thank you for taking my question. I used Fluocinolone Acetonide ACET 0.01% CRM 15 GM treat psoriasis on my legs and I stopped using after two weeks because it did not help. I applied it once a day. Now one of the side effects is thinning skin. How serious would the side effect be if I used for two weeks and stopped?

Hello,

The local steroid may not have any serious side effect, but the thinning of the skin may not be the side of effect of local steroid, it could be the skin lesion itself.

If it is the creating some doubt for side effects of steroid, then you can stop it just for confirmation but even stopping the steroid what is the condition is there may take some time, the only option is clinical confirmation, but the local application of steroid may not be the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
