Do Soft Drinks Help In Lowering Blood Pressure?

Hi doctor,my mom has high blood pressure problem and whenever she feels her bp is rising she drinks soft drinks/fizzy drinks to lower it but I am against this because I think soft drinks can increase blood pressure instead of decreasing it!Can you please guide us?

Soft drinks include all drinks that are non-alcoholic; this includes fruit juice, energy drinks, flavored waters, concentrates and fizzy drinks. In many cases, they contain artificial sweeteners and sugar.
Fizzy drinks and energy drinks contain phosphoric acid and carbon dioxide.
Both of them cannot decrease blood pressure.
Eating too much sugar can lead to insulin resistance, which is a precursor to type 2 diabetes and weight gain. weight gain therefore, can cause hypertension.
