Do Statins Cause Canker Sores?

I had been taking atorvastatin 10 mg since last five years. Since last six months I have been getting canker sores in my mouth and tongue, one after the other. I have stopped taking atorvastatin, but the canker sores still continue. Do you think it is related to statins or something else. Thank you.
