General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, steroid injections can cause a spike in blood sugar levels. This is because steroids can increase insulin resistance, leading to higher blood sugar levels. This effect can last for several days to weeks after the injection. As a diabetic, it is important to monitor your blood sugar levels closely after a steroid injection, as it may require adjustments to your medication dosage.

In your case, a blood sugar level of 267 is concerning and you should contact your healthcare provider for further advice on how to manage your blood sugar levels. They may recommend adjusting your medication dosage or monitoring your blood sugar levels more frequently. It is important to follow their advice to prevent any complications related to high blood sugar levels.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
