Hello, my name is Quwan and I was wanting to know if taking steriods and having epilepsy history would trigger a seizure? I haven t had a seizure since I was 8 and my doctor waived me off my medicine at age 15 because I didn t show anymore signs. I am currently 22 and working out 4-5 times a week and want to try a cycle of dianobol which is 30 days. Would it be safe to?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Anabolic steroids lower blood levels of anti epileptic drugs & so tend to increase the chance of seizure.
In your case you have already stopped the drugs... do not have symptoms of epilepsy... so there should be no harm... still it's safer to check EEG to confirm the absence of epileptic waves & start the steroid after the expert advice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
