Do The Holes In The Throat Close Up After The Tonsillectomy?

I had a tonsilectomy 20 days ago.
i also have a larger hole on one side becuase i was getting quincies. that's why I had the procedure.
My throat still hurts and when I swallow I feel like there is bits stuck and hanging in there. Is this normal ?
Do the holes close up ?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding post operative pain in tonsillectomy, and the fade of fossa left behind.

As you said that you were having tonsillitis with quincies and for he same you had been operated about 20 days back and now you have pain and big fossa at the site of tonsil. Though 20 days had been passed so pain will now finishup in few days and the hole (fossa) will remain there but it will gradually become shallow.

Regards.
