Do The Skin Color Go Back To Normal After Molluscum Treatment?
Hi. I have Molluscum on my genitals and thighs. They were burned off using liquid nitrogen in from my dermatologist on two visits. Then, I was instructed to apply 17% salicylic acid to the treated area or new outbreaks, which I did. The color of my skin in affected and treated areas is dark red after 10 days. Will this scar (I am very fair skinned) or will I see my skin go back to normal one day?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. The scar will fade with time. It will depends on your skin regeneration time. It can take 6 weeks to months. Using kojic acid and vitamin c based creams will be helpful to fade the skin darkening also. Taking vitamin C and vitamin E orally will be good also. Gels based on aloe vera and been also can be used. Hope this may help you. Let me know if any thing not clear. Thanks
